His journey with Power4Vets started when he was introduced to the program from his peers (word of mouth. After some discussion with him regarding the program, he decided this would be a great training platform to help him land a job in the utility industry as a System Operator once his enlisted obligated service was coming to closure. He enrolled into the program in February 2019 and completed all of the Power System Operations training courses and NERC Preparatory items and successfully passed the NERC Reliability Certification exam in November 2019. Our Human Resource team started working with Matthew to facilitate his transition employment plan and helped him land his dream job with Entergy in Woodlands, Texas as a System Operator.
Words from Matthew Mullins
“Throughout my navy career I would hear how marketable the skills and education you obtain while serving are. While I agree with that statement, I was still really unsure about how they correlate and the direction I wanted to take in my next career. The Power4vets program helped provide and solidify that direction. The lectures and simulations gave me key training for the industry and helped land me a great job.”
